Identify "I:ROUSH" silver round?
Hi GIM'ers,
At a recent local coin show I picked up some silver rounds. One of the lot is a strange one I've never seen before. Here's the description: the obverse has a cobra in the middle, with the word/letters "I:ROUSH" above the snake in a bracketed frame, with checkboard for the rest of the border. I'm not kidding - the "I:" might not be Romanized lettering, since the ":" looks almost square. The reverse has a five-pointed star sitting on a rectangular so it looks like a three-pointed star, an upside-down five-pointed star inside it, with "I:" in the center. All around the outer star is "ROUSH" four times. Is this round from Arabia, India, or Pakistan? I've never come across this artwork, even in reading. If nobody can ID this silver round from the description, I will have to fire up the 'ol flatbed scanner and see what kind of picture I can scan off of the coin. |

This medal is an outstanding example of an Off Center on a Roush Racing Team medal. The winner of this auction will receive the exact item shown here. Note: the size of the medal given is when it is struck normally. Naturally, off center strikes, double strikes, etc., may stretch out somewhat larger than normal. This is a flawless "cameo" proof-like strike; the backgrounds are perfect reflective "blazing-mirrors" and the designs are frosty white. It weighs one-ounce, is struck in .999 pure silver and measures 39 mm or 1-1/2" (a bit larger than a silver dollar). This is a unique memento to anybody who collects auto racing memorabilia or error coins! minus all the off-center and error crap |

So it's a racing car manufacturing coin? The pictures above are correct, albeit off-center. I've never heard of a automobile manufacturer putting out a series of silver rounds...
